The Impressionist Revolution

By Giving List Staff   |   September 19, 2025

Santa Barbara Museum of Art is proud to announce that it will be the only western US venue of a global tour of The Impressionist Revolution: Monet to Matisse, with SB joining Dallas and Mexico City as world cultural centers. Join SMBA at the exciting opening.

The Impressionist Revolution: Monet to Matisse from the Dallas Museum of Art is a blockbuster exhibition of masterpieces of all of our favorite artists: Monet, van Gogh, Sisley, Renoir, Mondrian and more.

A companion exhibition, Encore: 19th-Century French Art from SBMA, is astounding in presenting the world- class art works from the collection, including four Monet paintings which have been gifted to the Museum, and will all be on view simultaneously for the first time.

Join SMBA at the exciting opening celebration on Saturday, 10/4 starting at 5:30pm for The First Impression – Paris at Night party with champagne, hors d’ouvres, music, and more. Tickets $1000 per person with proceeds supporting the Museum exhibition program.

The public opening will follow the next day on Sunday, October 5 (members preview that day 10-12 noon).

Tickets on sale now at SBMA.net.

Mission

The mission of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art is to integrate art into the lives of people.

Begin to Build a Relationship

We know you care about where your money goes and how it is used. Connect with this organization’s leadership in order to begin to build this important relationship. Your email will be sent directly to this organization’s Director of Development and/or Executive Director.

We believe that incorporating art into students’ lives plays a crucial role in social and emotional learning. Engaging with art, whether in a group or alone, helps us understand and connect with one another. Art stirs curiosity about the unfamiliar and encourages us to accept and appreciate differences and new perspectives. By integrating art, we can enhance curriculum connections, explore diverse narratives, provoke questions, and inspire meaningful discussions.
