Growing Our Light: Welcoming New Leadership to Unite to Light

By Giving List Staff   |   February 13, 2026

As Unite to Light continues to expand our global impact, we’re excited to share that our team is growing here at home in Santa Barbara.

This month, we welcomed two new full-time team members who will help strengthen our ability to deliver clean, reliable solar light to communities around the world.

Kimberly Sky joins us as Development Director. A lifelong entrepreneur and mission-driven leader, Sky has founded and led multiple purpose-driven ventures and brings a dynamic combination of creativity, strategic partnership development, and an extensive international network. Our mission deeply aligns with her long-held mantra — Unite with Light — and she is already at work growing our community of supporters and expanding opportunities for impact.

We also welcome Nathan Lipps, who brings over a decade of experience in tech sales and sales enablement. Most recently at Verkada, he built and scaled onboarding and training systems that supported hundreds of new hires and drove measurable performance results. With a systems-focused mindset and a passion for team building, Nathan will help strengthen our operational capacity as we continue to scale. Based in Santa Barbara, he and his wife are raising their four children here and are grateful to contribute locally while serving communities globally.

As we look ahead to 2026, we remain committed to building resilient power solutions for health clinics, midwives, students, and families who need light most. Strengthening our team at home allows us to deepen our impact abroad — and we’re grateful for this community’s continued support in helping us light the way.

Mission

Unite to Light envisions a world where every person has access to clean, affordable light and energy. They provide low-cost solar lighting and energy to people living without electricity to improve global health, education, prosperity, and fight climate change.

Begin to Build a Relationship

We know you care about where your money goes and how it is used. Connect with this organization’s leadership in order to begin to build this important relationship. Your email will be sent directly to this organization’s director of development and/or Executive Director.

I’ve learned that meaningful change often begins with something simple. Unite to Light brings light and power to villages, clinics, and schools where darkness has limited opportunity. Suddenly, evenings become time to study, work, cook, care for family, and gather together. It is a privilege to be part of that transformation.

$2,500 Lights the Path to Graduation

A $2,500 investment funds a “Light Library” – providing solar lights for students to study safely after dark. Each light costs $10 and lasts 7-10 years, making it one of the most cost-effective education interventions available.

Unite to Light is seeking 25 donors at this level to help thousands more students stay in school and succeed.

Buy One. Give One.

For every product Unite to Light sells here in the U.S., they donate one to someone without electricity.
