Buidling and Practicing Resilience

By Giving List Staff   |   August 27, 2026

What if resilience isn’t something we simply possess, but something we intentionally build and practice? Join First 5 Santa Barbara County for a virtual Ed Talk with Dr. Maryam Kia on Thursday, October 1, from 3–4:30 p.m. Dr. Kia will explore how resilience grows through relationships, trust, play, emotional safety, and connection, offering educators practical strategies for helping children develop emotional regulation and restorative skills.

This free event will be held via Zoom, and registration is required. The first 100 registrants will receive a free copy of Dr. Kia’s new picture book, A Suitcase Full!
