Hillside Today & Tomorrow: A Fall Garden Party

Hillside looks forward to seeing you and your guests at Hillside Today & Tomorrow: A Fall Garden Party on Sunday afternoon, September 25, 3:00-5:00 pm. The get-together will take place at Alpha Resource Center, 4501 Cathedral Oaks Road, Santa Barbara, in the beautiful Serenity Garden. Proceeds benefit the individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities, who reside at Hillside on Veronica Springs Road in Santa Barbara.

 “This event is more “friend-raiser” than fundraiser. Too many people are unaware what a wonderful place Hillside is and the difference it makes in residents’ lives,” says Norris Goss, longtime Hillside Board member, who serves on the Events Subcommittee. She has spent over 20 years letting family, friends, and neighbors know the importance of this residential community. Towards that end, Goss is inviting friends to join her at the Hillside Fall Garden Party featuring Pricey Diggs, a traveling duo made up of Mark McMillen (Pricey) and Annie Boreson (Tipsy) performing an eclectic mix of songs and styles. Via Maestra 42, voted #1 Italian restaurant by Santa Barbara locals, is catering. Goss’s husband, Barry will pour the beer, wine, and soft drinks. There will be a silent auction with gift baskets and paintings by local artists. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to visit various booths and hear from Hillside staff members updating them on residents’ care, programs, and activities as well as Hillside’s plans for the future and how guests can become involved with the nonprofit. Hillside’s major sponsor, Assistance League® of Santa Barbara, will have a booth where ALSB members will share the many ways they support residents like Bruce in the photo above on the left.
